In operation since 1994, SEBRA was established in Archdale, North Carolina and is one of the longest, continually running bull riding associations in North America.
Formerly identified as the Southern Extreme Bull Riding Association, SEBRA has expanded as far north as Michigan and has held events as far west as Mississippi. The association continues to grow and has a strong presence now in states such as Ohio and Pennsylvania and now simply goes by SEBRA, letting the name stand alone. It is still “Extreme” Bull Riding, but the Southern has been outgrown.
SEBRA has worked hard to become an association recognized for its good reputation. The association puts its producers, contractors and members first, assisting in everything from event promotion and taking call-ins, to helping bull riders obtain sponsorships.
Sanctioning upwards of between 150 and 200 events a year, SEBRA prides itself in working with contractors and producers whose focus is on quality shows and the average attendance of SEBRA events is 1,500 with some smaller shows and larger performances that have seen as many as 7,000 fans.
SEBRA has helped produce such veteran bull riders as PBR members JB Mauney and Brian Canter.
SEBRA is unofficially a semi-pro association with events suitable to a range of experience from amateur to professional depending on the event and producer, though quite often SEBRA events feature PBR caliber bulls and riders.
Why Sanction With SEBRA?
SEBRA has a proven track record of integrity and hard work for its membership.
By sanctioning with SEBRA, you are giving the bull riders who regularly support your events a chance to compete for a $25,000 added money finals at season’s end. This is one of the largest finals in the United States and with its low sanctioning fees, you are bringing the benefits of a strong association and reputation to your events. You are also opening the door for other opportunities for the bull riders in your community to receive support from the association.
SEBRA has a strong membership and following and uses that strength to help promote your event to bull riders and fans. Assistance is available with posters and media releases and personal web sites are developed for you if needed, free of charge. SEBRA will even handle call-ins for you.
The association also has a network of contract acts, announcers, bull fighters and support personnel available to you.
SEBRA puts your company information on its high-traffic web site and links to your own site.
Judges receive SEBRA training for consistent judging, SEBRA banners are sent for your arena along with all the forms and paperwork needed.
A comprehensive data base is available that stores all the information about events, bulls and bull riders.
SEBRA is also redeveloping its Extreme Pro Team program that will soon see a network of SEBRA riders available to help promote shows and engage with the public at your events.
American Bucking Competition (ABC) Benefits:
SEBRA events can be sanctioned with the American Bull Company, which sees contractors entering their top stock for judging and opens the doors to extra profits by holding an afternoon futurity, taking advantage of expenses already paid for the arena and location. This is a great advantage to a producer working with SEBRA.
Why get your SEBRA card?
SEBRA offers a $25,000 added monies final in addition to more than $450,000 paid out at events all season. With extra buckle events, other incentives offered by some of our producers, and as much as $4,000 added money at some of our regular events, SEBRA provides great opportunities for a bull rider.
There are weekly deals, monthly series and events in more than a dozen states at this time providing more than 250 events in a season and plenty of opportunity to earn money toward one of the Top 40 spots in the finals.
Bull riders, along with producers, contractors and other members, enjoy the benefits of SEBRA, including the possibility of being chosen to the SEBRA/Wrangler Extreme Pro Team. The team is made up of riders who show strong character and are able to represent the association to the public, receiving a leg-up on earning sponsorships as well as free clothing and autograph bookmarks.
SEBRA is available to help bull riders with sponsorship packages and makes space available on its web site to link to a bull rider’s own site or to provide personal information on the SEBRA site to enhance the recognition of its riders.
The association also assists riders in numerous ways from finding places for them to stay to keeping them informed through a free subscription to Humps and Horns Magazine to a monthly newsletter.
There are also professional photographers at many SEBRA events sanctioned by the association.
SEBRA works hard for it’s members and fans by helping to provide the best possible experience at every SEBRA sanctioned event.
