It was a Terepeat this year in the SEBRA National Finals Barrel Racing as Last year’s Champ, Teresa Quay of Urbana, OH won the season after going into the finals already in the top position. Her finals performance may not have been what she hoped this year and didn’t place her in the money, but her season earnings were enough for her to hold on to the top spot while Vandy Walden of Wingate, NC took home the weekend win. Round One Friday saw Walden take first with a time of 15.305 followed by Nicole Love of Staley, NC with a 15.602, Megan Oberdier of Cutler, OH, with a 15.667 run and Julie Stoval of Midlothian, VA with a 15.959. Rookie of the Year Gage Gay of Staley, NC rides Wes Begoon/BLM’S bull Sampson to a 70.5 and a reride where he scored an 86 on Wayne White’s bull Moe in the Long Round in Friday night. Michael Lane of Tazwell VA on the Brad Nelms bull, “Hoppin’ Mad” in the first round Saturday at the Second Round of the SEBRA National Finals.
